I'm Going To Be In DIVA Magazine!!!!........

........ OK so not me personally but one of my tweets is!

The other day I randomly got a message on twitter from DIVA Magazine saying to email them as I had won a prize for tweet of the month! I then received an email asking for my name and address as I had won my choice of jewelery to the price of £15 from www.temporary-secretary.com and my tweet will be featured in their December issue of the magazine.

Looking through the website there wasn't much i could see that took my fancy apart from the Hello Kitty earrings:

As much as I love them and I love Hello Kitty if I have been given £15 to spend and can only choose one item I would like to try and spend a bit more. However looking through the site I couldn't find anything else i like so thought I would take a gamble on their 5 item lucky dip:

Which if its 5 items from the picture above there are a few that I like including the superman logo, Care Bears and Hello Kitty bow. If its 5 items from the Whole site then fingers crossed they pic the earrings I like! but we will have to wait and see when i receive my prize in the post! its rather exciting I haven't won anything since I was a kid and won a colouring competition and won tickets to a fireworks display which I couldn't attend to to being away at camp so had to give them to my brother to enjoy!

Thorne: Sleepyhead

Sky 1 have just started showing a new series called Thorne, which is based on a series of books by one of my favorite authors Mark Billingham.

Sleepyhead is set in London Where Alison turns up at a hospital with locked in syndrome where she can hear see and feel everything but is unable to move or verbally communicate. DI Tom Thorne is trying to catch the person who did this to Alison however 3 more women turn up dead. Thorne discovers that the 3 women were a mistake and he was trying to "lock them in" as he did with Alison. The book is the first in Mark Billinghams series and the first book i was introduced to him with by my girlfriend and I couldn't put it down! and ever since I have been on a search to find all his other books (not many more to get before I have them all!)


As I said earlier Sky 1 have started a drama series based on the book starring David Morrissey.

It is a great series with outstanding acting from all the characters and as a stand alone drama I love it, but I cant help but think that watching this series may ruin the image I have built up of all the characters in my imagination. For example the image I have of Tom in the book is completely different from David Morrissey for starters I imagined him a lot older and a lot shorter! Hendricks I imagined to be built a lot bigger and have a lot more piercings and tattoos!


Well I suppose we will have to wait till christmas when i get some more Mark Billingham books to read!

Next series on Sky1 is Thorne: Scaredy Cat.....review coming next week!

Families

Why can't you choose your family?

Just had a phone call from my mum and all she ever does when she calls me tell me how well my brother is doing, moan about my dad, moan about her brother and sister and tell me to get a job and that me and my girlfriend should think about moving out of her mums house sooner so it makes it easier for her mum to move, when in theory if we were to move out it will make things harder for her as we are currently helping her to pay her rent!

I am doing all I can to find a job and after finishing uni and getting myself in to so much debt I don't want to start wasting my degree and going for a retail job or office job! I want a job in the media its all I have ever dreamed of and I'm not going to start putting my dreams aside! OK I know I feel like I'm being lazy and not working but I am applying for every job in media going and have just had 2 offers of an interview today!

As for getting a place for just me and my girlfriend I would love to get a place tomorrow just the 2 of us but we have decided that we are going to get married first then buy a place and have kids plus with getting married first it will give us so many more rights with buying a place. Its just a bit hard to do when I don't have a job to begin with!!!

OK rant over with just needed somewhere to vent I am going to keep quiet now as I will only wind myself up more and I'm starting to give myself a headache lol

Change of image wanted!

Going back nearly a year ago I went to the hairdressers to get my hair cut and re styled in to the same style I had previously, I took a photo in so the hairdresser had something to go by as well. I wear glasses so when I get my hair cut I have to take them off and without them I'm blind as a bat so I couldn't see what the hairdresser was doing till she had finished when it was too late!

This was the photo I went in with:

And when I left the hairdressers I didn't even have an inch left on one side of my head! (I would post a photo of it but it was that horrible I deleted all of them!) I was so upset and embarrassed of it I cried for 3 days and didn't take my hat off for a week!

This photo was taken a few weeks after it happened and a friend of mine styled it for the night out even though I still hated it:

Now nearly a year on it has grown but not as fast as I want it too and still feel it is too short to do anything with.

I used to have all different colours of hair and i even had dreadlocks like this:

I would love to have my crazy hair back because I loved it so much but now I have left University I have to start thinking more professional about my image so it means no more dreads and pink and purple hair. That's not to say I want to lose my alternative style altogether just means toning it down more.

I have been looking for ideas on google and here's some I have found that I like:

I would love to colour it blond and pink or even a purple/red colour but not sure if that's toned down enough! but I also want long(er) hair and with the wedding in a year and wanting long curly hair for that it just means waiting for it to grow a bit more! but what do I do with it in the mean time?!

Halloween!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!


Today is one of my favorite holidays HALLOWEEN!!! OK Christmas and my birthday are also my favorite but i love the whole spooks and ghouls stuff of Halloween. I used to love Halloween because it was the only time of the year I wouldn't get picked on for how I dressed lol. I used to love going trick or treating and I do miss it but at 26 i think I'm a bit too old for trick or treat! For the first 2 years of university I used to go out to the pubs and clubs in fancy dress which was fun but this year I'm going back to my tradition of having a massive horror film fest! I do however have some strict rules for a Halloween horror film fest!:

1. NO REMAKES
2. Film fest MUST include the classics (The Omen, Friday 13th, Psycho, etc)
3. One of the films shown HAS to be Halloween
4. You should have at least one film set around a ghost story
5. And the most important ingredient for a film fest...... POPCORN!!!!

There are probably more rules that I follow but cant think of them at this moment in time lol

So in preparation for my film fest with my girly tonight she has asked me to pick the films, so here is my list for tonight:

• The Crow
• Into The Mirror (Japanese)
• Exorcism Of Emily Rose
• Brain Dead
• Night Of The Living Dead

I would love to add The Exorcist to this list but I have just realised I don't actually own it on DVD! I'm shocked! I love that film!

So would you add any other Films to that list? I would but unfortunately those are all the decent horror films I own currently!

mad cats!

i have just been cleaning the dirty scum off the wall where the old cooker was using bleach forgetting that our cats love the smell of bleach! now we have 5 cats and its very entertaining watching all 5 rolling around the floor and chaising eachother around even our eldest cat battenburg who is very anti social especially with the new kitten jerry are playing with each other and chasing each other about! as im typing this pumpkin is trying to chaise the reflection on the wall from my phone and ginge looks ready to pounce on me to get the reflection! its like a mad house! xxx

my very strange dream!

OK SO WE ALL HAD A GIRLY NIGHT IN LAST NIGHT WITH PIZZA CRISPS DIPS AND CAKE! WE WATCHED SILENT HILL WHICH I FORGOT HOW GOOD THE FILM WAS AND WAS SUPRISED I DIDNT JUMP AS MUCH AS I THOUGHT I WOULD LOL WE THEN WATCHED THE LAST EPISODE OF DEXTER SEASON 4 WHICH WAS SO INTENSE! THIS SEASON WAS VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE FIRST 3 AS DEXTER WAS JUST CHASING 1 PERSON INSTEAD OF KILLING 1 PERSON EACH EPISODE. THIS IS WHERE MY STRANGE DREAM STARTS, I WOKE UP THIS MORNING REMEMBERING PARTS OF MY DREAM, I CAN'T REMEMBER HOW IT ALL STARTED ALL I CAN REMEMBER IS BEING A ROOM FULL OF TOYS WITH LOADS OF KIDS AND DEXTER AND THEN SUDDENLY BEING IN THE BACK OF A CAR IN THE SAME ROOM WITH ALL THE KIDS IN THE BACK WITH ME AND DEXTER IN THE FRONT TRYING TO KILL THE TRINITY KILLER BUT AT THE SAME TIME HAVING A LAUGH AND A JOKE WITH ME AND THE KIDS. THEN I WOKE UP TO MY GIIRLFRIEND KISSING ME GOODBYE AND LEAVING FOR WORK, I WAS VERY CONFUSED! THINK I MAY HAVE TO LOOK AT THE MEANING OF THAT DREAM! RIGHT IM GOING TO SIGN OFF AND FINISH CATCHING UP WITH LAST NIGHTS HOLLYOAKS. (SORRY ABOUT ALL THE CAPITALS IM TYPING THIS ON MY PHONE AND I CANT GET IT OFF CAPS LOCK LOL) XXX
